Wes "Big Country" James proposes to Sherry Touchton at the Shenandoh concert. |
No doubt about it, Tifton is fast becoming the live country music entertainment center of south Georgia. Last night's enthusiastic concert with Marty Raybon and Shenandoah at the Tift Theater bears witness to that.
It was obvious from the start that the crowd was appreciative of Shenandoah's music and Marty and the guys responded with an outstanding show. They played all their many hits and the crowd was especially appreciative of a tribute to the late, great Merle Haggard who had recently performed here in Tifton. Marty also aided in helping with a wedding proposal during the performance.
Austin McAlpin of McAlpin Entertainment has played an integral role in putting on several big acts in our area over the last year. Those acts included:
June 6, 2015 - Doug Stone and Buddy Jewell
July 1, 2015 - Merle Haggard
Nov. 11, 2015 - Deana Carter
Dec. 22, 2015 - John Berry (show was called "It's Christmas with John Berry")
Feb. 8th, 2016 - Willie Nelson
May 5, 2016 - Shenandoah with Marty Raybon
Just this morning, McAlpin Entertainment has announced that Ronnie Milsap will be coming to the University of Georgia Conference Center on July 15th. Upcoming events scheduled include:
