According to Sergeant Pete Lukas of the Georgia State Patrol, a traffic accident at the intersection of 12th Street and Park Avenue resulted in the death of a Tifton woman earlier today. 62 year old Jeannie Carey was traveling south on Park Avenue in a 1999 Buick Century when she pulled out in front of a 2013 Nissan Juke which was heading west and was driven by Madison Bryan, also of Tifton. The Carey vehicle was struck on the driver's side. Ms. Carey died from injuries sustained in the accident.
